Red face Prelude vs. S2000 [56k beware]

No, it isn't one of those stupid comparison threads. Or a story. More of a something-to-make-you-feel-better-about-your-car. Fourth gen Preludes are pretty much "the unloved ones" of the import world despite what a fabulous machine it is, and it shows it our aftermarket (which is crap). Which makes it a little delightful to find something like this.

So here you go, a fun little video with the JUN Prelude and the likes of S2000's, ATR's and CTR's, and the IS300. There is a little showdown at the end... its no heated battle, but still entertaining.

The JUN Prelude is 270hp NA using the JUN goodies in this video.

From the inside

A little bit of the engine bay.

Re: Prelude vs. S2000 [56k beware]

cool video. the prelude is definately underrated by a lot of people. but you'd be surprised how much props the prelude gets from non-honda enthusiasts compared to civics and tegs. it's a very well respected car, just a lot of people aren't familiar with them.

Re: Prelude vs. S2000 [56k beware]

Haha, ditto Phunyguy. The guy in the video said they had been working on it and fine tuning it for like over two years. One of the reasons why it beat the S2000 was the suspension, which was custom made. Big dollars. I wish I could spend that kind of money on my car.

Well actually you guys, they're just using all the JUN parts. They're using the JUN ecu too, which they've already tuned to match the JUN springs, retainers, pistons, etc. And it looks fairly streetable to boot.

Needless to say I'm on the lookout for JUN goodies now.

Re: Prelude vs. S2000 [56k beware]

To repeat what's been said a million times...you get what you pay for. JUN, Mugen and Spoon are among the most expensive, and have been proven to provide the biggest hp gains. Quality costs money.

Re: Prelude vs. S2000 [56k beware]

Good video.. I was suprised to see the prelude beat some very well respected cars.

As for mugen and spoon.. From what i hear.. They might be of better quality than most, but like Nike, I think you are paying more for the name than anything.

Re: Prelude vs. S2000 [56k beware]

It doesn't appear like an infomercial at all. It looks like a tuner show, just like you'd see on Speedvision or the Discovery Channel. Granted I do agree, Mugen, Spoon, JUN...they're probably the best, but they're still overpriced...granted I'd love to have parts from them.

Re: Prelude vs. S2000 [56k beware]

Mugen, Spoon and JUN are more expensive because they do their own R&D (research and development) when they make their parts. R&D is expensive. Other cheap companies don't do any R&D, they just try to make copies of JUN, Mugen and Spoon parts.

you've never heard of Best Motoring? think of C/D times 100 with professional drivers (not just some guy who likes cars). its not an infomercial at all. they test cars (stock/modded/touring) on tracks and touge. BM is the best, been watching/reading them for 6 years (before most people online even knew who they were).
