steering is pulling to the right

i keep taking it in and they say that there is no problem

i havnt taken a look or anything but i can definately feel the steering wheel pull to the right

i have a 1995 Trans Am

could it be something to do with the power steering pump?

Sounds like a alignment issue to me. Get her a alignment, usually cost around 50-70 bucks and while they are doing that have them check everything out. Good Luck

No, can't be the pump.
If it pulls to the right under braking, then it has to do with the brakes.
If it pulls to the right it means that you have more braking power on the left side than on the right side, could be worn out pads or else.

If the car pulls to the right while driving on a straight surface it could be tires or alignment, as well as a wheel bearing or suspension part gone bad. ....but it could also be the road surface....

If it is not under braking I'd check for a worn tie rod end...

i would say if everything seems ok (no noises) it is more than likely the road surface. They put a slight decline off to the shoulder to help with drainage and if it is aligned straight up than it will pull to the right. ask the mechanic to see how they set up the alignment and have them set it with a little left pull to off set the right pull. good luck

yea im pretty sure that the road isnt the problem because i tend to drive inbetween lanes and onto oncoming traffic,

the faster i go the more it pulls, like going 212km/h it is almost impossiable to hold, thank god im a big guy

but there is no sound... i think, the engine is loud enough for me not to notice

any other ideas?

the best is taking it out in winter! i live in canada, and its a snow day today actually

so when driving with shitty ass snow tires (this is last week by the way) and without putting weight in the trunk i lost control at 50km/h on ice i believe

so i got booked without a licence insurance or ownership

but joyriding charges dropped, insurance might be upto 5000$ and 330$ of trafic violations

i cant wait to get my licence! hahahahahaha

Ok well not to be rude or anything, but since you said your a big guy and I just heard of this happening twice in the last few days here's some info that might help ya out: Two different mechanics were telling me two different stories about car's pulling even though everything checked out ok. In both cases the driver was "big", and that was the actual cause of the pull (has to do with alignment angle changes). So what they ended up doing was having the driver sit in the car while the alignment was being done, and it corrected the pull. Again don't mean to offend you or anything, just trying to help.

I can't tell you if this works in gen4 but in the gen 3 f bodies there were problems with the flex hoses on the front brakes wearing out from the inside causing the brakes to hold because it cant return fluid. I had the same problem on my 89 with pull to the right and the alignment and tires were check many times over. I replace the calipers twice and continually had the problem. I looked at the spindles to make sure they were true and when it was over, I replaced the flex hoses and it solved the problem.
