Wheel advice

Mmmkay, ive finally ran across a little bit of cash and im finally getting some wheels. First of all, I do not have coilovers yet, but im getting them the same day, so...I will have them on with the wheels.

Is it a good/bad choice to go 17x8s all around? They have a +35 offset.
Or should I go 7" in front and 8" in the back?

I dont know much about tire/wheel fitment, but would I HAVE to buy 2 different sizes to match the 7" and the 8" or could I get a "happy medium"? Thanks...

Wanted: Some sort of 15-16x7-8" mesh wheels, black w/polished lip. And a nice offset.

Re: Wheel advice

its your call man.. a stock 240 has larger rear tires because there's more rubber on the road for traction.. i would suggest 8 in the back if you can, it'll only help you.. but if its 7, its not the end of the world.. everybody's got their own preferences

Re: Wheel advice

At least 8 in the back, 7 in the front would be fine, not the best, but if you can get a good price, why not? I want to get 9 in back and 8 in front, Doubt the back will fit without mods, but it's no big deal....I hope...

Assuming S13-

17x8 +25 would be Ideal but 35 will fit and look decent. Get the 17x8s all the way around, I wouldnt start staggering widths until you get into the 17x8/17x9 range.

Assuming S14
17x9 +15 Minimum

Re: Wheel advice

What exactly is offset and what does it do.

Also I have a s13 and all i have done in terms of suspension and wheels are some alu 17" six star wheels. But i wanted to a upgrade for drag what sizes, offset and tires would you suggest.

Also what kind of suspension upgrades should i do?

Re: Wheel advice

Offset is when you are from the middle of the wheel. +35 means the spokes are 35mm outside of the middle of the wheel, -12 means the spokes are 12 mm inside of the middle of the wheel.

Re: Wheel advice

go with 17x8 all around... people always think of bigger rear tires for launches and such but your front tires control you a lot around corners, especially if you drift... the extra money is deffinately worth it...

also I think smaller wheels in the front make the car handle somewhat different (someone correct me if I'm wrong) although you could get used to that I'm sure
