1997 grand cherokee runs rough.need a.s.a.p

My 97 grand Cherokee v8 had its engine light come on so i had the computer put on and it said the number 8 cylinder was misfiring. I changed all the plugs cap, rotor and wires and it still is running rough but the engine light does not come on anymore and the computer does not find an trouble codes. The truck is driveable but it does stall sometimes and it runs extremely rough at right around 80km/hour. i need help soon as i am suppose to go on a trip. i appreciate some much needed assistance

Drove vehicle for a bit and the engine light came on again.it is showing #8 misfire again. help please

Injector or a compression problem on that cylinder???


If it is only at a certain RPM, try some injector cleaner in a full tank of fuel. Give it a couple of tanks to work it's self out and see what happens then.

erase the codes every once in a while by disconnecting the battery neg cable for 30 seconds or so. That will tell you if it is doing what you would like besides running smoother.
