this car does not age well, more problems, plz help

Ok I got a leak comming in from somewhere in the driver side front area. Its wierd. the water wets the carpet at the foot of the driverside door. in other words; when you drive, right where you would put you right foot, right there. all that is getting wet but I cant seem to figure out where the water is comming from. the door on the inside is dry so its not the weather stripping on the door......could water get in from the engine bay? or from the drain area where the wiper motor is? what worries me is that I saw a spec of water on the fuse box and the last thing I need is a short. has this happened to ayone before?

Sounds like the heater core is leaking.

Re: this car does not age well, more problems, plz help

I have had this happen to me but notvery much on the door side, I have had mine pour out near the console. All it was, was the AC. I did not have mine on either, but I had been using it before that a lot.

And yes, I think heater core usually is on the passanger side.

Personally, I don't think it is a huge issue. Just see if it goes away in a day or two. mine did.

MY right foot is by the gas pedal, near the center console, did you mean your left foot? The airconditioner has nothing at all to do with the heater core. Pull your carpet up and look, follow the wetness to where it came from. The hoses to the core come in almost directly in the center of the firewall. The airconditoner comes in to the car on the far passenger side.(The engine is out of my car and I am looking at it as I type). I suppose it could be something else, but I can't imagine what.

AND, I guess it's not a big deal, if you don't mind your car smelling like a wet dog.

Well, if it is the same experience I had...it isnt a big deal because it happened for a day and then it dried and it didn't smell at all.

all i am saying is what happened to me and it sounded similar.

sorry for the confusion. yes it is by the LEFT foot. its a 98 gs. no its not radiator fluid.
I didnt use the AC all day but if the heater core will still leak then it is a possibility....I'll check. I tried following the "wetness" but its really hard to follow because it goes up under the dash.
is there any way the water can get in? I checked the weather stripping on the door and it looked fine. it was dry as hell too despite the fact it rained all day so I doubt its getting in throught the door.
this bugs me, like I said before, its too dam close to the fuse box.
