Re: what is a spoon engine

It's basically an engine straight from Honda, that the company Spoon Sports tears down. They balance and blueprint the block and add a slightly thinner head gasket to up the compression a little. The engines are for endurance racing (circle track, autocross, etc), and aren't built for drag racing.

B16A ENGINE ASSEMBLY -- $5,880.00
B16B ENGINE ASSEMBLY -- $6,125.00
B18C ENGINE ASSEMBLY -- $6,370.00

Get the feeling they're a bit of a rip off? You're paying over 6000 dollars for a stock honda motor balanced with a pinch more compression. Next time he tells you he's getting a spoon motor, sack him and remind him how stupid that is. You can have a sleeved motor with a fully ported head, big cams, and tons of compression for less than those rebuilt stockers cost

A spoon engine is like buying the "Versace" type B engine. before you buy one, think about what you can do with all that money left over after buying a normal swap.

spoon parts do perform but they are strictly for NA. If he is looking for huge points in show then go for authentic spoon products....if you have the money
