Very interesting FACT !!! (check engine light related)

I recently purchase a 96' Explorer V8 with 220k miles. According to the previous owner, he never see the check engine light on until recently he replaced the AIR FILTER. I had the code read and it say EGR VALVE SYSTEM error. I have all the hoses replaced, still no success. I just leave the light on since car seem to run fine. What I notice now is the light goes on for 20 miles the off for 30 miles then on again, intermittenly.

Yesterday, I just got the www.tornadoair.com for the explorer. The truck responsiveness improve greatly. More air flow to the engine.

What I notice today is now the engine light is constantly on.

uhmmm...

1) engine light was never on until owner replaced airfilter
2) engine light constantly on after installed tornadoair

Could this be an indication of bad oxygen sensor ? Any ideas ???

i'd say it's an indication of a problem in the egr system. most of the time a vacuum hose for port gets plugged with crud. the light coming on after changing the air filter is just coincidence unless a vacuum hose or sensor connector was disconnected in the process. oh yeah that tornado thing is a scam it will be more usefull if you turn it into a clock or hood ordament.

amac209, you say tornado air is a scam ? they have been in business since 1998 and I check BBB online. There have not been 1 complaint. I am still testing this thing out. So far I am impress with the throttle responsive improve. I will verify the mileage improvement soon. If it doesnt word as claims, I will post to this forum.
