Engine Stall

1997 honda civic with the check engine light on. The only issue I've noticed since the light came on is that the engine will sometimes stall when the ac is on.
Suggestions before I pony up for the code check, etc?

Re: Engine Stall

if it stalls when the AC is on there is a possibility that your alt is going bad. The load the AC puts on the alt may be too much for it too handle. But then again alt trouble doesn't usually set off your CEL.

The alt not putting out enough volts will cause the battery light to come on, so I don't think that would be the cause of the CEL like you said.
Pull the code that will help very, very much.
