Wiring Help
Ok I have two 300rms subs (4ohm)(SVC) and i want to hook it up to a 1 ohm stable mono amp 400rms.
I now that the 2 in parallel create 2 ohms. 2 in series create 8. Which is the best way to go, and how many more subs of the same kind can i hook up to this amp before its to much. And if anyone asks i have/ 2 MTX 15's 1 MAAUDIO AMP with digital read Last edited by shawnwilliams; 02-24-2005 at 05:08 AM. |

Re: Only The Best Please Help
You'll be able to hook up a total of 4 4Ohm subs to get to 1 Ohm, but the amount of power the subs can take will be reduced somewhat. You generally want to have the lower resistance value, and I think just those two will give you plenty of bump.
Remember: Power = Voltage x Amperage, and Voltage = Amperage x Resistance. (P = V^2 / R or I^2 x R) |

Re: Only The Best Please Help
I'd go with more power if you wanna get four subs. You would only get 100 a piece and that's not enough to get those subs potential. Also note that MA Audio tends to rate at INSANELY high voltages so you probably won't even get 00rms from it.

I'd suggest to keep your current subs...and get a 600wrms @2ohm amp! NG |
