2.5" pipe

Hey, I'm trying to get something out of my head (not my little brain). I want to put a 2.5" pipe in my car, all the way from the headers to the muffler. The thing is, I allready have the 2.5" catalytic converter but I want a header with the same outlet (you allready know). I was looking for one, but all I can find is something name "collector".

Is there any cheap 2.5" outlet headers? or how do I make my CAT fit in any other header?

Re: 2.5" pipe

cut the flange off and weld another one on. But you should be more concerned with getting a good header than with making sure to get one to match your cat.

Is it the flange what I know as the outlet? (I just want to know)

Re: 2.5" pipe

the thing is that I already paid $50 for a stock header, but now I feel that will be a waste of money to weld a new cat on it. what do you guys recomend?should I stay stock for a while or what?

Re: 2.5" pipe

is there a reason why your going with 2.5? 2.25 piping is fine if you dont have major mods. actually, your stock cat will be fine if you dont have major mods. your options are:

1. weld a 2.5 flange on the collector side to mate with the 2.5 cat.

2. you can weld a 2.25 flange on the cat side to mate to the stock header.

3. buy a header with a 2.5 collector to mate to the 2.5 cat.

4. put the stock cat back on so it can mate with the stock header.

Re: 2.5" pipe

thanks for the advice! I put the cat and the stock header together just to see how it looked, and its not much the difference. I might just weld the header and the cat for a while.
I just want to finish my swap.
