car wanders 1994 g marquis

HI BrOOKLYN TONY HERE,A friend of mine has a 1994 grand marquis with approx 90000mi .HIS problem is at about 40 mi an hour and above the car wanders and is hard to controll. He replaced the pitman arm,I told him to get the alignment checked and maybe the drag link and idle arm may be worn or some other front end part. Is there a common problem withthis y ear , HE had this problem since he bought it in 1997. thanks for any info . the car has allnew tires.

I have a 95 gm and have had problems with the ball joints. This sometimes caused a wobbly ride at higher speeds. You may want to get those checked out (I got mine replaced at Sears for a reasonable price after they snapped). You could also check and make sure the rim isn't bent or something.

Tell him to also make sure the hub nuts holding on the rotors are tightened correctly; those could also cause it to wander.
