Intermittent horn,cruise control

My 95 gm's horn and cruise control has for a long time intermittently refused to work unless I tilted the wheel a couple of times. After that they would work the rest of the trip. Now neither one will work at all, even with changing the wheel position. I also have a 2000 gm that is doing the same thing, only rarely so far. Any suggestions? I hope it isn't a broken wire in the column.

It does sound like something may have gone in the column. Might be worth taking the shroud off and having a look at everything. Most of the stuff in there has plastic connectors, so a replacement shouldn't be too tough of a job.
