Question about the CR-V

I have noticed on www.edmunds.com that some owners of CR-Vs have complained about their vehicles exhibiting a pull-to-the-right problem at highway speeds. All say it's not an alignment problem. Some imply that Honda recommends reducing tire air pressure to compensate for this drift off center. Is there any truth to this, or are these posts coming from a competitor's marketing department? Please reply only if you own a CR-V and are not employed by Honda.

Very biased aren't we. Why would you assume that every honda employee would lie to you?

Biased no, prudent yes. I suspect that most posts on www.epinions.com with favorable opinions, were in fact, composed by marketing pukes at the respective automaker. That is, after all, how marketing professionals earn their keep. The Internet is a perfect tool for marketers, in that it provides anonymity for sugar-coated reviews.

So what is the truth?? I test drove 2000 CRV and right away felt tension on the steering wheel and watched the car drift to the right. When I applied the brakes it didn't pull any further, it just continued to drift. The dealer tried equalizing the tire pressure but that didn't amount to squat.

There was an isue from 02-03 were the angle of the upper spring seats were incorrect which caused a pull to the right. However if yo get an experianced dealership they can play around with the camber settings and make the car pull less or not at all.

Example. lets say the camber is -.3 degrees on the left and .0 degrees on the right and the car pulls right. In theory the left tire is leaning to the righ so by changing the camber to say +.3 and maybe even putting the right side a little negative yoou can actually make the car goe straight. I find this on a lot of Oddysses to. so it can be corrected with an alignment.

I test drove a 2000 with a very bad pull. I own a 2001 with an ever so slight , almost un-noticeable pull. Any ideas what the issue with those years was?

I would really want to guess on the 2000 because it could be anything from tires( a bad tire, miss matched tire manufacturers, tire size) all therse can cause a pull. Or it may have suspension damage. Really without seeing specs its to hard to say.
