Re: service engine soon light (yellow)

If your engine runs like normal, its nothing to worry about its just some kind of electrical malfunction with these cars, my service engine soon light goes on and off sometimes on my 89 buick century and i have no problems with my car...its nothing i would worry about

Before I would go right off to ignore mode, check all your fluids, and check the engine codes. If you donn't know how go to a local autozone or simular store and ask for the gm code key and book. They used to give them away for free, not sure now. If all else fails disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes to reset the codes and see if it happens again.

I had the same trouble with my '96 Century. I was using Citgo gas at the time. When I changed to Mobil gas the problem went away. I think crappy gas will cause the light to go on. Also, I put a bottle of fuel injector fluid in the gas and get much better milage now too.
