a/t transmission swap

I have a 1987 300zx non-turbo a/t that needs a new trans .. i've found a used 1985 .. I was told by one salvage yard only a 1987-89 .. would work ... anyone know if this 85 would fit ????

i think they are the same tranny but i would double check with nissan or Z31.com or someone else on here will be for sure. salvage yards tell if things will work with your car by using vin numbers im pretty sure...so sometimes they are off on what will work and what wont. but i have never heard that nissan changed the transmission from 86-87. i know they changed a bunch of electrical things like headlights and taillights but not anything mechanical.

i remember hearing somewhere that the '85 trans is differant then whats in the '87 - '89's...
