newb w/ questions

I just bought a used 92 z24 from a dealership. Test drove it and it runs great, but as I was leaving the lot the engine light came on. Quick reverse and told them to fix it. That was a couple of days ago. They replaced one of the computers and that didn't fix it, so now they are replacing the main computer (on their coin, lol). Serves them right cause I think I paid too much anyway. Question is, what could be causing this and should I be worried? I'm a tad mechanically inept ... I'm starting to think that this dealership might be too. They are taking it to the chev dealership to get it fixed. Thought I might be able to speed things up so I can drive it sometime soon. Any thoughts?

Re: newb w/ questions

Welcome to AF but unfortantly your going to have to be more specific for us to help. Like for one there is only one computer, there are other control modules used but these are not the computer and what codes did they get when they scanned it?. Also did the problem come back when the changed the "main computer".

No idea like said above. There is only one ECU in the car but many sensors. If you knew what the CEL code was we could give you a few pointers.

Thanks, I'm a little mechanically inept and didn't think to ask what the codes were. I believe it was first a modual they replaced and now they are replacing the main computer. They should be phoning me tomorrow, so I'll get more info then. Thanks again for the response.
