im fuked lol need help with the 98 z

ok girlfriend has a 98 z24 the damn cat needs to be replaced a mechanic told me it cracked right where it connects to the manifold an he said i would need a whole new cat cuz the pipin comes with the cat wheres a good place to get it fixed mineke?i can't spell but i went to this place called monroe muffler an they wanted like $550 i was like wtf

surf www.autozone for the parts, check their pricing to see if it in-line with the quote you got.

I wouldn't go to either of those places. An ex of mine told me that Meineke has a 300% markup on their parts(informed by one of her ex's that used to work there) and Monro has always been expensive. Try to find that part itself somewhere else, and find a local shop that won't charge as much for labor.

mine broke on my 98 z also,i welded it back on,it held fine. -they wanted like 400-500 dollars for the cat and downpipe.hell,you can get a header and high-flow cat for that!!
