1994 Celica won't start. Need thoughts

I'm asking this for a co-worker. He said his wife's 1994 celica (thats all the details I know) will not start. Battery is good, Starter turns the motor over but it will not fire up. He said it was all of a sudden. He moved it in the driveway the previous night then the next morning it would not fire up.

My guess might be the fuel pump but I don't own one of these and don't know a lot about them, like common problems and such.

Any information or guesses to what might be the problem would be great

Thanks!

I had the exact same problem with my 86 gt. It turned over and wouldn't start. My problem was that I had a large amount of carbon and build up in my engine. I also made the switch the the most expensive gas (highly recommended because it runs much smoother). Being a 94 and much newer, you might not have this same problem. I still have problems with this, so I still haven't had the proper solution. Let me know what your fix is!

my $$ is on the fuel pump. in a semi-quiet area, you should be able to turn the key to the on position and w/ your ear by the gas tank hear the pump make a sorta whirring sound. its a good indicator but not neccessarily a "definite" diagnosis. but yeah the fuel pump can go just that quick. carbon deposits build up over time and usually show some symptoms..lack of power, harder starts etc. plus you said its a womans car, so check the oil and make sure she didnt seize the motor.

ouch

but yeah, my money's on the fuel pump too. but if it's not your fuel pump, it might be your injectors. make sure your EFI relay is functioning properly... but that usually doesn't happen with the EFI relay not working

Fuel, Spark, Timing...it's one of those 3 things most likely. Can't do much but guess with out diagnosing it in person.
