94 4.3 electric prob

I cant figure this one out. About every other time i get in my blazer nothing happens. No dome light when i open the door, no lights when i turn the key, nothing. Power is somehow getting cut to the entire vehicle. When i slam the hood or door though half the time power will cut back on and it starts just fine. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

p.s. I had my alternator checked and it is producing more charge than it should but im not convinced that the problem.

Clean and tighten your battery cable cannections.

That your alternator is charging high sounds like a clue. I agree with BlazerLT that there is a resistance problem with the battery, probably at the cable connection, or an internal problem in the battery.

Yeah im gonna throw a new alternator on tomorrow if i have time and get the battery checked out. Thanks for the replies. I'll let ya know how it goes.

You don't need an alternator, you need to clean and tighten your battery connections.
