2005 cavalier simple question

since the 2005 is the last year of the cavalier, (being replaced by the cobalt) and it has the 2.2L ecotec, would parts that match the 2002+ also match my ls sport? newbie question i know, but i had it specially built and i havent gotten it yet, get it this thursday . i heard on the newer ecotec engines that an induction kit significantly increases horsepower ( 5-10) is this true? if so, where is the cheapest place to get a name brand? thanks for all the help

Re: 2005 cavalier simple question

uhh assuming the engine you had in your 02 was the ecotec engine yes, everything in the engine will be the same setup. 2002 1/2 through GM switch from the 2200 to ecotec. And -jayson- is right expect about 5-6hp gain from an intake.

Re: Re: 2005 cavalier simple question

thanks a bunch , i like the idea that right when i get my brand new car to start voiding warrantees . you guys heard about jbs's cold air intake for ecotec? i dont think that their claim of 11hp is realistic, however i was curious if i should get that one, stick to K&N, or some other manufacturer... any ideas?

YOU KNOW I HONESTLY THOUGHT ABOUT DOING THAT TOO. DOES IT HONESTLY WORK? DOES IT STILL MAKE THAT THROATY SOUND AFTER ABOUT 3000 RPM?

LOL Alright guys, when I am on this thing at work it is usually on caps lock as a default. Didn't know it was such a "big" deal.
