Does it look like chocolate milk?

Cloudy? Can't see through it?

Post a picture of it.

Re: anti freeze going into engine oil sos

If the coolant level is dropping and the oil level is going up, I think we know why. The only question is where.

Was the antifreeze strong enough for the winter weather? If so, I would lean towards the intake manifold gasket with a possibility of a bad head gasket. could also be a cracked oil cooler in the radiator. If it wasn't strong enough, Possible cracked head or block.

Re: anti freeze going into engine oil sos

Our 01 Blazer started doing this at 12K miles. Really didn't see any thing positive in the oil except it was getting a little overfull. I think the high engine temps and the strong PCV system tends to evaporate and pull out the water. Might look under the oil fill cap for moisture. By all means, get the oil changed soon, with the engine hot, and watch what comes out the drain. Probably look like kerosene and have steam coming off it. I'd guess it's time for intake gaskets. We took ours to two different dealers and the only repair we got was the addition of sealer to the coolant sys. (This will be our last new GM product by the way, sign me disgusted)

Have had some problems with the intake bolts loosening up causing the gaskets to start leaking in the corners.

Re: anti freeze going into engine oil sos

The gaskets are made out of a phenolic material---not real long lasting and have been known to have a problem with temperature extremes(hot vs. cold).

Re: anti freeze going into engine oil sos

If you look at the intake you see the bolts don't pull the manifold against the head, they go straight down. The torque on those bolts is very low and the intake sort of floats on the gasket. Pretty much an epidemic of GM cars with intake gaskets leaking these days. Mechanics are building up a good retirement with this repair, about like the Ford head gaskets a couple years back. Nice to see your dealer is going to do it right for you. Guess there are a couple good ones left. Just not around here.
