Starter problem?

Ok so each time i turn on my civic it takes a little longer now. It feels like the car doesnt want to start. So is this the starter or something else? So will this break soon or i still have a little time to save up for repairs?

Re: Starter problem?

Yea it turns over. and i have a full tank of gas so i don't think thats a problem. But it just takes a while. I have found out when i start it in the morning its harder to start then in the afternoon. I don't know if this is because of the engine being a little warm or not

Re: Starter problem?

try checking your valve adjustment and timing, cause i had the same problem, but im using comp cam stage 2, and no its not your starter, if it was it would wine alot with out turning over, or gind as it retracts from the flywheel

I had the same problem with my civic, for almost 6 months, and it only got worse. I finally gave up on it, because nobody could figure it out. This weekend I replaced most of my electrical system to handle my new audio video system, and my car has never started better. I know it seems weird, but go buy a new battery and throw that in. The little batteries that are put in Honda's will continue to work with as little as 25% of the battery actually functioning. Worst case, it doesn;t work for you, and you take the battery back.

Good luck.

Re: Starter problem?

EDIT: Geezus... I just realized how old this thread is... problem is long since solved I'm sure... whoever is digging up these old threads and replying to them with now useless information needs to pay attention to the post dates before adding their own reply.
