Im new to this forum, so forgive me if im not too specific.
I have a problem with my 1993 Grand Am GT V6 3.3 litre When I have the car in idle the car's RPM jumps up and down. It jumps 500 to 800 RPM but it only jumps that much when I have driven over 15 min. (when the car is warmed up) and when i start the car cold it does the same thing but only 100 to 200 RPM's. I live in Minnesota so it is always cold on start up. I have replaced the idle air controler. and forgive me for this but i cleaned the copper coils thats on the "thing" that is mounted on the air intake but that only stoped the hesitating it was doing when I steped on the gas. PLEASE HELP! I'm a computer nerd so forgive me for the "thing" |

Could be those
I have replaced the Intake manifold and the Air Filter, the spark plugs are gaped correctly, and I tested the fuel injectors and they were fine.
and what is a EGR valve? and what timing chain? is it the valve timing chain? and it has been suggested to me that it was a vaccume leak but I dont know where to look for the leak. Thank You for your help jvmrn |

an EGR valve is Exaust Gas Recirculation it has something to do with your emmisions
To check for a vacuum leak you have to take it to a garage unless you have the proper equipment to test for a leak because it can be so many things it may be better just to take it somewhere and get the car looked at. |

Thank You
I will bring it into a garage and have it tested for a vaccume leak and i will ask about the EGR valve. oh and if the egr valve has something to do with emmitions than whould that explain that im only getting 21 miles per gallon? or is it because i have 223,000 miles on it? thank you for your help
