Gas

Today i noticed.... My blazer was at 1 line before hitting the red for E... So i put $15 of regular in and got 3 quarter tank... Then after that i drove about 12 miles in the city... now i am at one line before half a tank... Is this normal? I noticed it just goes down fast and when it goes lower then a half a tank it just drops, do u think the gas gage is broke or is this normal mileage for them? Didnt think they could be this big of a hog on gas.

The fuel tank reading is not directly related to the actual fuel level.

The tanks are not a perfect box or sphere.

From my approximations, from above full to 3/4 nets me the same distance as 3/4 to empty.
