Angry Radio Issues

I have owned this vehicle for 2 years now and the radio has slowly gone bad. My issue is actually /w the speakers. The only one that works right is the driver's door. The two behind the seats work so so, kinda muffled, the pass door is almost nonexistent. I took out the radio in my wife's Escape trying to eliminate that. It worked the same after I plugged it in. I also removed the pass. door panel to see if a wire had come loose but it was fine also. I am at my wits end w/ this thing. Can anyone help me out on this? PLEASE.............

Re: Radio Issues

Have you tried replacing your speakers?

I suppose it is possible that it could be your radio and something weird with the fade\balance controls, but since you swapped with another radio that worked fine in another vehicle and had no positive effect ...time to look at getting new speakers.

While you have speaker out, why not hook a voltage meter to the speaker wire to see if it's getting a signal to the speaker? Is it scratchy? If it's scatchy, then it's a wiring issue. If it just died, the channel could have blown, or the speaker's cone is falling apart.. Usually they pop when that happens tho.. So I don't know man, you need to check the voltage (DC) with a volt meter, you'll be able to tell what the problem is.
