Valve knock/slap... blah.
Its a mofo.. Extremly annoying and i'm not up to dealing with it. Couldn't have come at a worser date. I wanted to wait till fall and P&P my head and get 1mm over sized peformance valves and deal with it then. God damn it! Its gettin worse. Now i need to get my damn haynes manual back. What torque do the bolts on the rocker arms get since mine is at a buddy's house? I'm hoping its just loose.

Do you have adjustable rockers?. If they are the stock one's there is no set torque. They have to be adjusted using a couple methods. One is you tighten the nut while twisting the pushrod. Once you feel resistance you tighten the nut 1/3-1/2 additional turn. The other way is to remove the valve cover start the car and tighten the nut til there is no more more clatter. Good Luck.

No, they are suppose to be self adjusting and i would have to remove the vavle cover. So what i am thinking it back off the bolts on the rocker arms and snug them up again and they should automatically fix themselves. In theroy that is.

If you look at the site of the company that makes them they should have a tech number and they will tell you the correct torque figure to use because self adjusting can't just be snugged or they will loosen and cause clattering like is happening for you now and by removing valve cover I meant have it off while the engine is running obviosly your going to need to take them off to get to the Rocker arms. Good Luck and if you can't track down the correct torque figure. Just let me know the brand and I am sure I can track it down.

I got the specs. 22 lbs torque on each bolt. Now i just need a warm day because this 20 degree weather bites and the shop still dosn't have heat... Thanks for the help.
on a side note. Its nice seeing other mods in here now.
