'98 JGC air bag light

Has anyone heard of a problem with the air bag light coming on and going off on it's own? I took it into the dealer and they are claiming it is a faulty clock (or known as a spiral) spring. I personally think this should fall under the manufacturer but the mechanic is saying he sees this in all the cars he has worked on (Audi/Porche/Chrysler). I told him I also have a '94 Honda Civic and never heard of such a problem and that car is older than the Jeep with significantly more miles. I can't help but to think this dealership is pulling my leg.

Secondly, I keep seeing problems with power windows as I research Jeeps. Our driver's side window will sometimes go down when you push the button, but it won't come up without a lot of assistance such as pushing up on the glass or pulling the window up. Was this problem ever recalled?

The clock spring problem seems like a reasonable possible solution. I haven't seen any info on a large amount of problems with this though.

To ease your windows, try an application of silicone spray into the window channels. Sometimes they dry out and it will help. It could also be the motor or seized up linkage in the door.

Most Air Bag diagnostics are a Bad Clock Spring, the mech was not yanking you. The only way to diagnost the problem is with a Scan tool and sometimes it dosent show up. As for the window it sounds like your motor is going
