98 shaking between 55 and 63 mph

alright, like the title says, every time we drive the 98 Accord, we get a lote of wheel vibration between about 55 and 62.

The wheels have been balanced twice on both edges and we've had three alignment checks done within 500 miles the tires and rims are also new

...any other ideas what it could be? It doesn't matter if it rains or if its dry or what kind of road we're on, and it's only between those speeds

Re: 98 shaking between 55 and 63 mph

Could be a couple of things:
  • bent rim - balancing rim doesn't usually fix this. Bent rim usually wobbles at a certain speed.
  • cupped tires
  • wheel is not centered on the hub
  • tires have a bubble on the sidewall
  • rotors could be warped, but this is highly unlikely.

*Tire wear is even... ...it's been a problem since we put the tires on in november
*rotors are next to new ... no warping

* I haven't looked for a bubble: Is that something i could see easily?
*Could one of the rims been bent or something in shipping or prior to even being sent to us?? They just got put on this past November and that car hasn't taken any hard hits or anything

thanks again in advance

Well if it's been happening since the new tires then guess what?

Some bubbles are easy to see others are not. You should take the wheel off the car and inspect them carefully.

And yes of course it possible that the wheel came to you bent.

Yeah sorry. Without actually seeing the wheels and tires in person I cannot do too much from the comfort of my computer

What tires did you get with your wheels?
