Yes that's about right. 15-20mpg is typical for the 3.2/3.5L. Just about what you'd get with any comparable, full framed 4x4, domestic or import. If you start getting less than 15mpg with a rodeo, then it's time to start looking into it.

Re: Gas consumption
I get about 15 in the city, closer to 17 on the highway in my 98 2-wheel drive with the 3.2. I go to 300 miles on a tank that's 21.4 (?) gallons. I've tried additives and replaced plugs, etc. to bump this up, but that seems to be right where it's going to stay. Normal. Now if only the gas gauge was even close . . .

Re: Gas consumption
Bought mine new 4wd and that is all I ever got out of it. It has been dropping though, slightly. For the first time on my last smog it came close to not passing. 130k

That seems to be the going fuel mileage on most. My 97 Rodeo 3.2 4WD squeaks out 16 city and 21 highway.
