sunroof and powered mirrors wont work
you guys got any clues as to what could be causeing these. My wife just bought it, its a 98 GS. It dosent have the fuse cover under the dash so I dont know which fuse is for what but I did check all of them and the ones that are there are all fine. I also checked the fuse box in the enginebay. no refference to sunroof or mirrors there. So what else should I check for?

When you activate the switch, listen for the motor. If you hear the motor but the sunroof does not operate theres a problem with the drive mechanism or drive cables. That goes for the mirrors too. If no motor noise and fuse is not blown, then maybe the switches are bad. Maybe you have a loose ground wire somewhere.

Re: sunroof and powered mirrors wont work
it should show you in the owners manual which fuse is the one for the sunroof. it's located on the fusebox under the dash. maybe the fuse isn't even there!

Re: sunroof and powered mirrors wont work
Ok I doubt this is the case but I just wanna put out there that if the Sunroof is stuck open (stopped working when it was open) there is a lil cover you can pop and put a hex key in and close it. I'm only saying that because that happened to mine and I was at the time to enept to figure that out and I wasted many trash bags keeping the rain out lmao.
However I am guessing it just dont work period. Yea the fuse should be in the fusebox under the dash. You won't always here the motor if the gears are messed up. In my case the gears locked up and stalled out the motor. And a sunroof motor is not big enough to make a whine sound when stalled out. It may be the switch. As far as the mirrors sometimes I have to mess with my switch a bit before they work. try flipping it from side to side like 10 times and see if it helps. I know my switch has a loose connection in there somewere maybe thats a more general problem. good luck, peace

If you don't hear the motor, you can test it by running some wires directly to the battery. Positive to terminal 1, negative to terminal 2 will turn counter clockwise, and if swapped it will turn clockwise. Then you will know if its the motor or not.
