first ticket in 6 years

Oh shit, you guys wont believe what happened to me. This morning I was taking my daughter to school, normal routine, when about 2 miles from my home a damn hypo pulls turns on his lights. I look down and see that I am doin 85 in a 55 zone. how was I susposed to know that I was doin that fast, it didnt seem like it. Well I pull over and shut off the car. I figure he will just give me a ticket and let me go, does he hell no. Well I give him my insurance and realize that I left my lisence at home. So I tell him my lisence is at home, he asked me my name bla, bla, bla. He comes back and says that he cant find anything under that name so I give him my maden name, again he comes back and nothing. So he asked me if I have ever got a ticket before, I tell him yeah, and what for. well he tells me to get out of the car, mind you my daughter is in the back seat laughing at the cop and asking him if mommy has to go to jail for goin to fast. I ask him if he is gonna take me in, he says yes. I tell him I am not gonna get out of the car till someone can get my kid. Again he tells me to get out of the car. I tell him the same, not till I know my daughter is ok. He looks at me and tells me that if I dont get out of the car I will be resisting arrest and I will be in a lot of trouble, so I get out of the car and tell my daughter to stay put for a munite. He takes me to his car and gives me a cell phone and tells me I can call someone to get her, so I call home. My husband has the phone turned off. I think well shit. The officer tells me to turn around. I ask him if he can put me in the car without the hand cuffs. He laughs and says that he cant do. So he cuffs one of my hands and asks me why I was lying to him about having a lisence. I tell him why in the hell would I lie to such a handsome man with a gun. I didnt know what else to say. To my supprise, he takes the cuff off my wrist and tells me to stay. The man gives me a ticket for no lisence and speeding. and tells me that I should know better than to lie to a cop. so I ask him if I can go, he says I guess. on my way to school my daughter asked me if I was going to time out. I thold her no. I asked her if she was gonna tell daddy, she says no. then she pauses and says well mabye not and smiles at me. See how evil she is . Well after I get home I get out my lisence and realize that it has been expired for about 3 years, oops. any way that is how my morning wend.

Re: first ticket in 6 years

"...3 years without a valid lisence..."

Have you been driving that whole time? And don't you get yearly notices to renew your lisence?

Your lucky that is all that happened to you.

Re: first ticket in 6 years

I was in my husbands car. It is real easy to speed in that thing. as far as the lisence I put it in my purse and havent looked at it since. I dont think I got any reminders in the mail, I may have that was 3 years ago. I do plan on paying more attention from now on, believe me!!!

no kidding.

"why would I lie to such a handsome man with a gun".. OMG, I would have locked you up just for that. Plus though, if you have no liscense, you cant possibly have insurance either. He could have impounded your car, taken you to jail, gave you a thousand dollar fine, plus the tickets for speeding, and no license, you would have an SR22 on your record and you would never get insurance again for under $200 a month (at least for a few years) even though youre married and have kids and your own home.

You're lucky you're a female. And you're lucky it was a guy cop. I would be in jail. Unless it was a female cop, then I would just have a new girlfriend cuz Im slick like that.

Re: first ticket in 6 years

the insuranse was my husbands and he had me on it as a driver. I guess progressive did not check my background. Never thaught about it. They also insure my car under my name with my husband as a driver. Dont know what to say. All I know is that what I say is true...

Seems pretty ignorant to not realize how fast you're going, or that your license expired. Plus, lying to a cop was a really stupid move. You could have landed yourself in jail. Good job getting out of it, though. Start watching your speed now when you drive, and make sure your license is valid.

Re: first ticket in 6 years

I did not lie to him. At least I did not think I was lying. I honestly thought that my lisence was good. I mean hell, honest mistake. I am going to talk to the judge ( a good friend of the family ) after I get paid friday, pay my ticket and get my lisence up to date. And I plan on talking to the officer and telling him I am sorry and was wrong. I know all the other cops around here but I think he is new. So I owe him that much. I really am an honest person.
