Question 2000 Grand Am Gt--metal piece????

Hello all,
Just a few days ago we got a lot of snow here...well enought to run under my car. It sounded like I was pushing snow with the front end. I looked under my car and there was a piece of metal about the thickness of about 3 or 4 hangers hanging under the front end of my car. it was with in arms length reach a friend of mine was able to push it back up....any clue what it could be???

thanks!

a piece of the radiator support? I would crawl under there and just make sure everything is firmly attached.
