Question How do i add another transponder key Mk3 golf/Vento

Hithere,

Is there anyone out there that knows how to add another Transponder key to my Car Its a 1995 Vento 1.9 Td AAZ eng UK spec (same as mk3 golf)

The reason i want to do so is because i was only given 1 key when i bought the car, so i realy need to add another for security more than anything else.

I have seen the keys for sale on Ebay and getting it cut is no problem but i know that my key has a transponder for the immobiliser and i need to know if a new transponder can be added ?????

I also have a MK4 3 button Flip key which i think also has a transponder, if i replace the blade with my key could the transponder in it be programmed to my car ???

Any advice would help otherwise its off down to my vw dealer for an extortionately priced key.

Cheers
Brucie ( UK )

No the transponder from a mk4 won't work with a mk3 immobiliser.

You basically need to go to a vw dealerhip so they can code the new key via there VAS equipment hooked upto your car to match it with your immobiliser code in the car.

The dealership will need to get immobiliser code from your car via VAS and order the appropriate key.
