84 z28 tranny/clutch problem

I just picked up this 84 z28 for $1,000 about 2 weeks ago. replaced fuel filter, fan relay and temp switch and got it running. however now i got another problem when i put it into gear its like its only half way in and i get alot of grinding when i rev it up until it hits high rpms and then it goes. it was fine in the morning when i took it for a test drive, then i go to take it to the mvd to get plates on it and to my suprise i have to make a quick turn around. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as im gonna tackle this problem this weekend.

Re: 84 z28 tranny/clutch problem

Welcome to the forum and it sounds like a worn clutch to me but without look at the vehicle its hard to say for sure.
