Bleeder valces rusted shut

I have an 86 delta 88 and my bleed valves for the brakes are rusted shut and i really need to get the lines bled, What the best way to get them open?

Re: Bleeder valces rusted shut

Try this... Clean rust off the bleeder valve and the surrounding area with a wire brush, the best you can. Spray the bleeder valve with penetrating oil (PB Blaster, Liquid wrench, whatever your favorite is). Let them sit about 15 mins. Take a hammer and give the caliper a few taps in the area of the bleeder valve (just be careful not to hit the valve itself)

... ok last step: Heat the area of the valve with a propane torch (just till it gets a little hot), Then get a 10mm socket (I think its 10mm), not a box wrench (less chance of rounding the edges of the vavle off), a little twist and they should be free!
