Re: how quick would this setup be or quess

low 15s high 14s? depends on lots of things, but mostly the condition of the engine

not sure but is it safe to run 8 psi on a stock engine?

Re: how quick would this setup be or quess

Between 5-8 psi on a good running A6 should be fine. Also what size turbo you talking about? 8 psi out of a T25 and 8psi out of a T4 are a really big difference.

i think the ihi rhb5 (might be a little off but close) is a small turbo good for a first project spools quick and is set somewhere around 5psi can be found on some ford cars like probes i think. the t3 is also good smaller than t4 alot more practical. most turbos you can find in a junkyard that came stock on a car work pretty well.

Re: how quick would this setup be or quess

Yeah if you want something that spools quick and has a nice punch I would go with a T25 or T28.

Re: how quick would this setup be or quess

I would go with a T28. Spools quick and can push 15-18psi if I remember correctly.

Re: how quick would this setup be or quess

I ran 10psi every day for over 6 months on my stock block Y7/Z6 minime with no problems. it hauled ass.

An engines ability to handle boost is not limited by psi, but rather power output capability (can the rods/pistons/etc. physically take the power outputted by X amount of psi), and fuel and spark management. You can easily blow an engine with 5psi with imporper management, and can also as easily run 10-12psi on astock d series with proper management, although i wouldn't recommend more than 10psi daily.

As was said, your time all depends on your drag racing skills, tuning, weight of the car, track conditions, etc.

If you had slicks, and ran a *perfect* run (1.9 60', perfect shifting, perfect conditions), you could possibly run a 13.9 or so, but if i was to guess, i'd say you should expect mid 14s.
