99 Grand AM SE Replacing Steering Knuckle
Hi,
Does anyone know if replacing the front right side steering knuckle is something difficult to do? I can get a used one for $40 but I don't know how tough they are to replace, I'm also changing the hub/bearing/abs as well, got aftermarket part for $95 old one works but the bearing to knuckle bolts froze and since the harness looked pretty worn I bought a new bearing. Thanks, Luke |

Yeah, it is hard job. Have to disconnect the tie-rods, the half-shaft, the strut lower mount. Re-align, etc. Unless you have plenty of tools and time, I strongly suggest let a good shop do it.

And have I mentioned the pull on the CV joint? Let someone else do it. Or if your $$ is tight [and who's isn't, sigh] surf this site, www.autozone.com for some repair info.
