ABS Light coming on after front end work and rewiring

We just had a lot of front end work done on a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am, 2.4L, and the ABS wiring had to be re wired. Now ever since we got the car Back the ABS light has been coming on and off. Like when we hit a big bump or something, it comes on. But then after you start the car back up it goes off, but then just comes on after driving and braking a while. Could it be a lose wire?
Also, today I noticed after driving with the light on there was smoke coming from the front tires, light from in the tire, what could that be? Could this be from the ABS Light issue?

ABS, sounds like loose wire or connection, re the smoking, possibly just some grease or brake fluid burning off. Take it to a car wash, crank the wheels, and blast the brake system on both wheels, trying to get to the rims also. Be very careful driving afterwards, the brakes will be wet, and won't grab well until they dry.

This might flush out anything. If it doesn't work, get it to the shop, tires should not smoke.
