Re: 97 Country Problem!

the temp sensor probably needs to be replaced, not sure where it is on that model. somewhere behind the bumper i believe. and the washer fluid thing.......is the rubber hose busted on the back wiper?

Re: 97 Country Problem!

allwheelspin::: fergmonster is right!!! TRY THIS BEFORE REPLACING SENSOR....the sensor is behind the right side of the front bumper. if you ask me A BAD PLACE TO INSTALL A SENSOR FOR TEMP. It is usually off by 20-30º in my 92 XJ during summer months, especially at idle. HEATS WAY UP!!! In winter months, it's more accurate, but only a few degrees higher. than actuall ambient temp. the most accurate reading is when you 1st turn the key to the ON position without starting engine. once the engine heats up, the sesor, being VERY sesitive, picks up the surrounding energy. However, back to your prob--- i had the exact problem, ended up being a BROKEN wire. All you need to do in that case is splice in some new wire, same guage, and wrap new connections in black electrical tape. GOOD LUCK.

Re: 97 Country Problem!

The ambient temperature sensor is in the middle of the grill and low behind the front bumper clipped to the center web between two air holes in the front pan sheet metal.
