An interesting question

Everyone knows there are companies that replicate the Shelby Cobra 427. But if there was a company that got the ok from Nissan to replicate the Skyline and reproduction RB motors or something of the liking for the U.S. market would you buy it?

Re: An interesting question

No... Why do that when you can get an authentic one from Japan.

The reason the 427 Cobra Jet is reproduced, is because they are scarce now. Its awfully hard, and expensive to find a good condition 427. RB on the other hand, is not.

I've heard of a company making an R34 Kit Car. The kit is about $10,000 (from what I've heard, and that sounds about right) and includes a full tube chassis, body panels, interior panels, brake system, steering system, lighting, and basic electrical system.

Im guessing they are authentic parts off the R34, or good reproductions.

But the powertrain is up to you... So think about this, you have a chassis that weighs about 1,200, with a 276bhp AWD powertrain... The thing is going to be an absolute MONSTER...

Pretty good idea I suppose, but I wouldnt buy it

I'd rather design my own car, and have something truely unique, but thats just me.

I'll try and find the website...

Re: An interesting question

like zed said, id rather build something completly unique than build a car that already exists. although it would be kinda nice to replicate the skyline look, and have customizeable engine and drivetrain layouts. mmmm...

i can think of it now. alpine white r34, vq30dett engine with a RWD layout...mmmm......

Re: An interesting question

O it would certainly be neat... It would be like a JGTC Racer

I would build my OWN Skyline kit car... But I would not buy the kit. I would import the car as a shell... Calm down, calm down... I would completely tube the chassis, front rear, and mid. And drop in a VH45DE motor bolted up to a Non-Turbo Zeds transmission, with R200V outback

Thing would run close into the 11's, and would tear up the AutoxCross course with a change of rear ends.

So if the car has a completely new tubed chassis, and a different engine... It is kit car through and through, no technicalities at all.

... Although it would be much more time than it is worth, it would be fun none the less.
