Talking Bought my first bike!

hey everyone. if you guys can remember i was looking at a 1992 Honda CBR 600 F2 not too long ago. well i got it for a pretty good deal. it was in better shape than i thought. minor scratches, only 14k miles. So far i put a new battery in it, just to be safe. And i took it out for an hour the other day even though it was 40 degrees. well now i cant wait till it gets nicer outside so i can get some more seat time. i appreciate this site, it helped me a lot while going through the process.
i was just wondering where is the best place to buy accessories and aftermarket stuff for street bikes. i ordered my helmet off of www.newenough.com. Great deal by the way. i want to get the integrated turn signals for the back, and some small things like frame sliders and bar ends. wheres the best place to buy parts for bikes? i plan on looking for exhaust and other things for the bike as well, not right away but in the near future. Thanks everyone!

although you can save by buying over the net, it might be worth your time to develop a relationship with a parts store who also sevice bikes. then you get good discounts. my guy gave me a back tyre for 75%off just cause it was my birthday.

frame sliders are a good idea but bar ends?

are they already scratched?

do you want to keep the originals in good condition for when you sell?

try www.motofx.com.au for ideas on modifications but they are an aussie site so you'll have to find one near you.
for another example, my parts guy orders from motofx and gets a good discount and then passes it on to me. saves me around 15% over the internet price and i get to see it in the flesh before i buy

I was under the impression you were new to bikes.

Re: Bought my first bike!

Congrats. You made a good choice. Just be careful out there. Buy gear before parts.

frame sliders are good investment, but as far as cosmetic goes, just get a fender eliminator kit for that clean look. as far as the other stuff, it's better to save money on buying top of the line gears, spend time on riding, and upgrade to a new bike. even with the exhaust and what not, it won't come close to today's bike, why waste money.

Re: Bought my first bike!

That's a good point. i guess it's better to get the hang of riding first before buying stuff for it. thanks
