Re: ls newbie. have some q's. please help?

The 2000 had several PCM (Powertrain Control Module) calibration revisions. The stickers are simply a record of the updates that were performed so that service techs don't waste time doing unnecessary work. The changes were mostly to improve shift timing and feel.

Auto wipers not working... Can you be more specific? Are you aware that there are two control settings for the wipers to work ing auto mode? Set the wipers to intermittent, then rotate the speed dial to "auto". Do that with the car running in "park". Get out and look at the outside of the windshield in the black area at the top-center. There should an amber-colored light flashing just above the rear-view mirror mount. If you have no light and the controls are set properly, you might have loose connections at the sensor (that black box on the windshield). Pull off the back of the box and disconnect/clean/reconnect the lead. Turn the wipers off and then back on, making sure they are set to intermittent and auto, then check for that light again. If still no light, you may have a bad sensor or control stalk. Neither are cheap. Have a dealer diagnose anything beyond what I've already described.

Popular performance enhancements:
1. Cat-back performance exhaust (10-12 hp) from Magnaflow or Borla (shop around for pricing, expect $500-$1000).
2. Hi-flow intake kit (15 hp) from www.llsoc.com ($300-$500)
3. Xcalibrator PCM flasher from SCT (15-20 hp) from www.fordpartsnetwork.com ($300-$400)
4.various brake options from performance pads (various suppliers, EBC, Porterfield, Raybestos, Hawk)($100-$200) all the way to full-race six piston kits (stoptech, $4000)
5. Leda adjustable shocks (shop around. tough to find) ($2000)
6. lowering springs from various vendors rangin from 1" to 2" drop. I've got Springtech.

That's about it...

The LS is great car with a few unique problems. Most find the ownership experience very rewarding.
