2001 Airbag Light

I was wondering why on my 2001 Intrigue the airbag light comes on and stays on...is it going to go off, or is the airbag light just like the check engine soon light......does the airbag need some attention now too...

Help me...what is up with the light???

Re: 2001 Airbag Light

This is what the Owners Manual has to say:

Quote:
Air Bag Readiness Light
There is an air bag readiness light on the instrument
panel, which shows the air bag symbol. The system
checks the air bag’s electrical system for malfunctions.
The light tells you if there is an electrical problem. The
system check includes the air bag modules, the wiring
and the crash sensing and diagnostic module. For more
information on the air bag system, see “Air Bag” in
the Index.
This light will come on
when you start your engine,
and it will flash for a few
seconds. Then the light
should go out. This means
the system is ready.
If the air bag readiness light stays on after you start the
engine or comes on when you are driving, your air bag
system may not work properly. Have your vehicle
serviced right away.
The air bag readiness light should flash for a few
seconds when you turn the ignition key to ON. If the
light doesn’t come on then, have it fixed so it will be
ready to warn you if there is a problem.
So it sounds like it's some sort of an electrical problem.

Re: 2001 Airbag Light

The airbag light on our 1999 Intrigue stays on as well.

Any ideas.

Sorry but please check the date of the thread and do not raise old ones that are over 3 months old. I would recommend following the guidelines below and start a new thread. Thank you for your future cooperation. Thread closed.
