Where to look for a new RSX Type S Transmission

Where would you guys go if you needed to find a RSX Type S 6 Speed transmission? I have a client that just blew his up and needs a replacement. Thanks.

Re: Where to look for a new RSX Type S Transmission

Good question; always an issue with transmissions. If it's repairable, which "blown up" leads me to believe might not be the case, you could try a rebuild. Dealer would cost a fortune, of course. Junkyards may be the source, but of course, you don't know exactly what you are getting. But if it's a low mileage car that is there because of an accident, it could be OK. Maybe clubrsx.com has some alternatives; those guys are forever rebuilding their cars. Can't recall seeing any complete trannies for sale there, but I haven't really been looking for one either. Try the buy/sell forum there (can't remember the exact name).

It might be cheaper to get the Type R tranny and then you'd also get better gearing (different final drive) and an LSD.

I believe that type r transmission would have to be imported wouldn't it. Do you know any import companies that might either carry it, or can get a hold of it.

www.car-parts.com great place to find things like motor swaps etc, so i assume you should be able to find a tranny there as well
