2000-03 Bonney which is Best Year? Least Problems.

Hello,

To those who know these Vehicles and the Problematic issues by design
or lack of, I would certainly love some feedback as to which year
is going to be the best to buy. I want to get one with less then 35,000-40,000
miles so I can get that Transmission fluid changed to ensure long life. I would
hope the person I buy it from would have at least changed the trans fluid once in this
mileage … but in most cases I DOUBT IT!

What are areas I need to give my most attention when shopping around? I know the basic checks like Motor Oil Changes, Trans Fluid Change, Radiator Fluid, Etc.

Thanks for any imput.

Luke

I would stick with the '02-'03 Bonnevilles. But you still want to check things like dampness in trunk area. Look at the spare tire stowage well for any moisture. Check the front driver/passenger carpets very close for any moisture. Look very closely at the coolant recovery tank for correct level. The steering intermediate shaft has been problematic also.
That's all I can think of right now. Good Luck!

Hello Markwb,

Thanks for the reply. What is with all this moisture? Where does it all come from?

Luke

The moisture/wetness comes from rain. The trunks sometimes have leaks. The doors have internal water deflectors that fail allowing water to wet the carpets. Go to the Bonneville club web site, they have infinite info on the Bonnevilles.
