looking for suggestions...

I bought a Mitsubishi Evo RS. This particular model doesn't come from the factory with a stereo or speakers. However everything is pre-wired. Today I installed an Alpine head unit and two Infiniti Kappa 2 ways in the rear of my car. Next I'd like to add an amplifier and two more speakers in the doors. I listen to death metal and thrash...no rap...so I'm not going with a subwoofer. I'm looking for suggestions on the amp and the speakers. No more than $400 between the two of them though.

So far I'm thinking a 360 WATT 4-channel Alpine amp and two more Infiniti Kappa 2-ways for the doors. I've been seeing some other good deals online but I don't know what's good or bad. Are the JBL Power P552 2-ways a better speaker than the Infinitis? Is the 4-channel, 360 WATT amp that Alpine sells a good fit for this setup?

Re: looking for suggestions...

With that type of music, you're going to want a sub. If you don't want to get a sub, then you're going to need something with serious midbass potential (kappas will NOT cut it). An amp will cost you around $150+, so you'd probably be looking in the $250 area for speakers. Unfortunately I don't know of anything right now that's good in that price range, maybe someone else can help there.

What are some of the speakers you were thinking of?

adire kodas and image dynamics chameleons are two, but they're both a little more than that. Maybe if you skimped on the amp you could squeeze them though

Re: Re: looking for suggestions...

I've been using crutchfield.com but I don't see either of those speakers there. Where could I find an online retailer?

Re: looking for suggestions...

crutchfield isn't going to sell anything too great, they're better than best buy and they have nice headunits, but don't go there looking for nice speakers or amps
