Installed Used Trany & Won't move

I ran in to the same problem that most people do with these 4T60E. So I pulled the trany and put the used one with 60...k on it. I take it of the hoist & the car starts fine then I go to pull it out and the car will not go into gear at all. All gears are acting as neutral! The trany that I put in has an extra vacume of the top and the side mount did not mount up. so I changed the casting and plugged the extra vacume. Can anyone help?
Note: I also used new trouqe converter and I don't know what car this trany came out of! and Does Second Gear start matter?

Yes it is bolted togeather...
I was talking to one of my buddies about the problem (hes a mec for a scrap yard) he said the tranny most likly came out of the grand am and that I should check the fluid levels. it could be air lock in the tourqe converter im going to let the car run for a hour straight tomorrow and monitor the fluids to see if it sucks more fulid in. And as for that extra vacume I was told by him it is a breather and just to leave it.

Problem is Fixed!!!
Their was air lock in the tourqe converter. When air finaly came out the fulid level dropped. So in the end I guess their was not enough preasure for it to shift. And the Grand Toatal amount of trany flud I had to put in was 8L, I thought it was only going to be 6L. Oh well my bad.

But... new problem now when I take a corner the trany kicks out of gear and the car revs up untill I straighten out then it clucks back in. Tans axles not locked into the trany? Any Input on that one guys?

did you pre fill your torque converter? before you installed it? in my experiences ive used up to 10 litres of fluid and as for when you corner and the tranny kicks out of gear you might still be low on fluid

Thumbs down Installed Used Trany & Won't move

I did not I thought it would have got the air lock out sooner or later
But I think the tranny is screwed from when I got it 2 months ago, Im going to go all out and dump a l67 into, I got the pin out for the wiring harness and stuff, all I need is a computer and motor harness & sensors, I will probly do it in a 6 weeks or so... thanks for your input guys.
