Braking Problem

My car was breaking fine , but since about a week ago the brakes have been acting weird. When I come to a stop a almost have to stand on the brake pedal to get them to stop. Also the brakes tend to lock up more since this started. I don't have ABS. I don't know if I somehow got air in the lines or what. This has almost made me wreck like 5 times. Please Help.

Re: Braking Problem

When you stand on the pedal is it soft or firm? If its firm, its not a air issue, maybe a bad pwerbooster or vac line to it. This will be really hard to figure out over the internet, since there are so many things you have to check and rule out...

The brakes are soft, but hard when the pedal bottoms out. Sometimes when I try to stop I can push the pedal to the floor and the car won't stop but, sometimes when I am going faster and try to stop, the brakes lock up.

Re: Braking Problem

Pfff my man whoever changed ur brakes last time f**ed them up. Check for air in the brakes, look if they are placed right. Check also ur brake fluid even thought chances are very minimal that that is the prblem.
