The Next Buick

Looks like we'll be getting a new addition to the Buick forums. Buick's website has launched it's newest model, the Lucerne.

http://www.buick.com/lucerne/index.html

Wasn't there a showcar in '88 called the Lucerne? I remember it was a blue convertable...

I think I like it. I hate the name though, but the car looks hot! The rear end reminds me of a VW Phaeton. It's also getting the Northstar V8 in it, which unfortunately still powers the front wheels.

Looks
Performance:
Would I drive it? You betcha

Post your opinions folks

Re: The Next Buick

Yes that is one of the new models coming out in 2006. GM is also coming out with a 2 door 4 cylinder sports car.

Now the bad news the Lesabre and Bonneville is dead as of this model year. The lesabre has been an excellent car and the one I perfer to work on over any other GM car I deal with.

Re: The Next Buick

I understood that the Lucerne was the replacement for the LeSabre, yet the Park Avenue has vanished from the Buick website, and the LeSabre is still there? What gives?

Re: The Next Buick

When will GM get it that we want more rear wheel drive vehicles? The passing of the Lesabre and Bonneville reminds me of something I, and a few of my friends said about 15 years ago. And that is, "Once GM gets all or most of the bugs out of a vehicle, and it remains popular, GM will discontinue it . "

2006 Lucerne

The Buick Lucerne is the replacement to the Le Sabre. Im not to fond of the styling, since the La Crosse is much better looking. I do have a picture of the front of it that I got from Buick in an email, but Im unable to post it yet. I will in a day or two. If anyone has any pics/info on it, post it.

No prob. I got a post to make anyways. In yours, of course. That one seems to be more popular.

Two things,

That picture is the one I got in an email from buick, I was going to post that in my thread (2006 Lucerne). So never mind about. I really dont think that it looks al that great. After the La Crosse, it looks kind of blah.

The other is that the Lucerne is the last front wheel drive Buick. The current models will all be replaced by new, rear wheel drive models. I hope the Park Avenue stays, that car is too good to get rid of.

Re: The Next Buick

I love the Lucerne, but the PA will eventually get a replacement, I assure you.

The good thing, is a replacement model will drive the prices on the current models down, to where I can afford one!
