G20.net Help Me Out>>>>read

i have tried and tried to figure out what the #*$@& is wrong with my stereo system. i know i posted this up before, but maybe someone might have the same problem, and hopefully have the cure....
i have a 1994 G20t .......
first of all my stereo is completely stock!! never modified, never spliced, tapped, cut, ....anything.....

the problem is that at certain times the front speakers would go out, they would eventually come back on within 10 minutes or less.....also one of the rear speakers goes out the same way! i am pretty sure that the connections are solid, and it may be an amp remote problem, or possibly an amp problem, the reason why i beleive that the connections are solid is because the way the sound just cuts out doesnt sound like a crossing wire, or a loose connection.....

i hope someone can help me figure this out, i really dont want to pull the whole system out to but a whole new system,

if i did have to get a new system, can i just get a new deck and wire it up to the old amp? or do i need new amps? is the stock system on the infiniti G20's like a regular amp with a 12volt power, ground, and remote? or is it like just ground like the jeep chryslers......thanks for all your help

I had similair problem with my 1993.5 G20. My front speaker were cutting out on and off , it was annoying but I lived with it for a while. Then I wanted to replace my AM/FM cassette deck with a cd one. A stcok CD\Radio was like $350.... I said screw that and got a higher power ( volts not amp ) am/fm cd player ( Rockford Fosgate ) . Because of the whole OHM matching thing.

The sound was great and much cleared than stock and then PFFFF! The front speaker did it again. I replaced the front speaker s with stock one.... When I open the door panels I saw the little cracks in the front speaker, I know have stock speaker from Scottdale Infinit (60 pair ) and it sounds great . ( shake the windows all the way around I replaced all the speaker with stcok rears too ) Hope this helps ......

He is picture of old speaker with hole. I have i post on the whole procedure on yahoo at ......

hi there, thanks for the response,

so you are saying that it's most likely that my speakers are just blown? are you saying that you had stock speakers and replaced them with new stock ones? or did you have some NAME BRAND speakers and they sucked, or something?

my speakers are stock and they dont sound blown, they just cut out once in a while.......please lemme know before i take out the stock ones, thank you very much...peace

Yeah, I have messed with these alot. More than likely you are having problems with either the speakers worn out or the amp is puking. My advice would be to buy an nice aftermarket stereo and replace the speakers. Then wire around the fact. amp.. That's all I can say without looking at it. THe other would be to use a voltmeter and read the resistance of the speaker to see if any of them are burnt but that isn't always the best way to go. See, you can have a bad coil but only in one spot so if you are playing it hard were it hits that spot alot, then it will cause the unit to shut down.
